Frosty mornings and cooler winds begin to turn my thoughts to the approaching holiday season. It's time to start making Snowballs and Santas! This year there will be a few other magical friends joining the collection... snow white kitties in woolly Santa hats and a grungy prim barn owl with his little mouse...

It's been a hectic summer here, but finally, I'm able to get back to work on what I love to do most - working with fabric! The fall and Halloween season is already booming and I'm a little behind. I decided to do things a little different this year and focus on characters that represent the warm colours of autumn - rich spicy shades of orange, rust, tan and of course a bit of black for a Halloween touch. Black cats and ravens and maybe a pumpkin head or two...

Birds of a feather... what better way to greet the coming summer months than with these gentle airy creatures. A simple form with rusty wire feet, coffee stained, painted, and rubbed with cinnamon. Grungy, with aged cotton fabric and wool to add softness and warmth. My new little birdie friends will fly straight to your heart with their simple folk art charm.

I've always loved the look of Americana folk art... primitive forms in red, white and blue that all fit together in such a cheerful, colorful way. Wooden boxes, tin stars, quilts and Uncle Sam dolls add warmth to any vintage inspired room. Patterns of stars and stripes that compliment each other, aged in coffee and vanilla for a wonderful, primitive look.

Spring is in the air... well, at least for this week anyway. I can't believe how warm it's been, all the snow has melted away. I've been busy working on a new Easter Bunny design for 2016, and I've been having so much fun creating these little fellows. Aged with my own special mixture gives them a rich chocolaty colour with warm toasted pecan wools that make them almost scrumptious enough to eat. They have big bunny feet that allows them to stand on their own, and let's face it, when it comes to bunny feet... size matters.
