After the rush of Halloween, Christmas and Easter, it's always nice to take a little time to play around with new ideas. I've been trying my hand at making jointed bears and it's been quite fun and not as difficult as I've always thought - although, I'm not so confident enough yet to use mohair. Experimenting with different types of joints is challenging and I've tried a few of my own invention that have worked out quite nicely, so I've added a few to my latest Americana doll. His arms and head are jointed and can be turned for more expressive poses.

There is nothing better on a cool winter morning than the aroma of freshly baked sweet buns - butter, cinnamon, raisins, toasted nuts, all drizzled with sticky icing. These wonderful confections are the inspiration for my 2017 Easter bunnies. They have all the sweetness without the calories...

Ever since my sister starting raising chickens, I've been fascinated with all the different varieties she has; Silkies, Frizzles, Show Girls, and of course Easter Eggers. She always has a bowl full of beautiful coloured eggs to display - pastel blue, pink, buff, olive green and dark brown speckled. These are the inspiration for my Easter Egger hens, each one holding a different colour egg from natures glorious palette...

The cold and dreary days of January seem to just drag on with no cheery holidays to lift the spirits. What better time to think ahead to February when everything hearts become all the rage. These little sweethearts will hopefully bring a smile and add some warmth to fend off the winter chill. My little calico kitty is ready to cuddle or perhaps a little puppy love with slobbery kisses...
